FITCI (Frederick Innovative Technology Center) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incubator and accelerator that has supported Frederick, Maryland startups for over 20 years, operating two facilities with BSL-2 wet lab and office space. Its flagship "Maryland's EDGE at 321," opened July 2024, adds roughly 25,000–30,000 SF of purpose-built BSL2 wet labs, private offices and suites, an educational lab, and a 4,200 SF "Base Camp" community space, while the original Metro Office campus offers ~33,300 SF of labs and offices with a bio-manufacturing and agtech expansion underway. Unusually for a lab-space provider, membership bundles space with a full incubator stack — coaching, CEO roundtables, capital connections, the Edge Accelerator, the Clinical Bridge program, and a Soft Landing Program for international companies.
