First Flight Venture Center (FFVC) is a non-profit science and technology incubator founded in 1991 in the heart of Research Triangle Park, offering roughly 25,000 sq ft of customizable wet lab and office space across approximately 32 labs and 32 offices, housing 30–40 early-stage companies at a time. Space is built out to each startup's needs (power drops, sinks, bench configurations) on flexible leases rather than long multi-year commitments. It also runs Hangar6, an on-site digital prototyping studio with 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC machining, plus accelerator and non-dilutive funding programs (WheelsUP, FAST SBIR, BARDA DRIVe, LiftOff grant-writing support).
